- Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 'Performance Art' Capsule
Life imitates art. When Joe Freshgoods posted via his Instagram account that this upcoming fourth project with New Balance will effectively close the chapter on this stanza with the Massachusetts brand, the general public (instinctively) believed that this was the swan song for the two. But fear not, the collaboration is not going anywhere as Robinson (Freshgoods) was appointed the brand's creative director earlier this year. Three soft palette New Balance 993s are releasing and are "made to wear well". From the colored suede crafting, muted mesh underlayer, and an aged yellowish midsole and matching laces. An oceanic blue is coupled alongside a blushing pink and earthy olive green – all with 'Vintage Rose' accenting outlining the "N" along the side panels. Release of the upcoming collaboration is slated for Friday, October 21st online at Joe Freshgoods' webshop along with the capsule collection and in-store at Every Now And Then. Additionally, the Blue and Margarita (green) color schemes will be available in unisex sizing online at New Balance at 10 am ET. - Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog 'Kuwata'
Salehe Bembury and Crocs continue their courtship this month with a tenth Pollex Clog release. The project which began in 2021, is both equal parts personal as it is expressive – after all, the model does combine three of Bembury's fingerprints molded together and dramatized for multi-directional traction. But where there is that element of personality, the expressiveness comes from Bembury's creative direction. The next color scheme effectively known as 'Kuwata' is a soothing muted redish clay color palette, that wraps the molded shell. The colorway's look is deeply rooted into the literal translation of the name; which is a Japanese surname – written as 桑田, that translates to "Morus" and "Paddy Field". In the animated teaser posted on Bembury's Instagram (below), we find Salehe sketching his signature Crocs design in a tall grassy field where the rendered version of the Pollex Clog can be seen budding from the Morus alba tree gently swaying overhead in the breeze. Release is scheduled for October 22nd online at Salehe's brand webshop. Stick with Sole-U for further information as it relates to retailers.
- Air Jordan 1 High Retro 'Lost & Found' Official Images
Reminaged. Just imagine ... it's the present day ... you stumble upon a Nike Air box clouded in dust and what you unearth inside is an original 1985-86 Air Jordan 1 in a white, black and Varsity Red motif. The leather that was once pristine is now a crackled symphony, aged beautifully – naturally, gracefully; from the black collar to the white base layer. The midsole, oxidized – kissed by the sun yellowed and turned into a shell off-white color. All with an original invoice from a local mom and pop shop of the mid '80s. That is the ethos of the 2022 iteration of the 'Chicago' Air Jordan 1 Retro High; timelessness. The rendition takes the "aging" craze that has been seen across various silhouettes in custom form and implements it for themselves and takes the process a step further. It also serves as a callback to Jordan Brand's push for remastering and authenticity as seen with the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 2 Retro and re-creating the crackled midsole from an actual OG Air Jordan 2. The release will drop just before Thanksgiving and will release in a full family size run on November 19th. See the official release info and price points and images after the jump below. - AMBUSH x Nike Air Adjust Force Adds Two More Colorways
Yoon Ambush's take on the mid-90s Nike Basketball cult classic, the Air Adjust Force was met back in the spring with two launches beholden to the model's era. One black, one white/black – two staple motifs of the decade ... but where the first wave was true to OG nods, the second wave is a fearless display of color theory. On one end of the spectrum, we have a fiery Habanero Red appearance that's coupled with Light Madder Root and Burgundy Crush. And while the Habanero Red plays a supporting role, according to the color description, it is front and center – from the midsole, outsole and heel loop but grounded in the middle is the removable shroud in the blistering red. And on the opposite end of the spectrum is a cool colored University Blue look, that borrows Habanero Red and is held together with deep black accenting ... very reminiscent of Travis Scott's Air Jordan 4 Retro from 2018. Scroll through the official imagery below, release is scheduled for October 18th on SNKRS. - Nike LeBron XX 'Miami Heat' Official Images
👑 x 🌴 It always, always, always comes back to South Beach with the second half of the LeBron Nike signature line. Since LeBron James first left Cleveland in 2010, it served as perhaps the most post pivotal moment in the history of his line. What began with the 'Pre-Heat' (South Beach) LeBron 8 and followed by the proper black and red look of the Southern Florida professional hoops team, the color scheme has found a spot annually. With the 20th signature being a marquee moment for LeBron's run, the colorway is every part a reflection as it is a staple. The lightweight, tightly knitted upper is a bold black, flanked by the quadruple lateral Swooshes, with the underlining Swoosh being reflective. The guardrail's detailing speaks to LeBron's two decades in the league and is anchored by a University Red outsole. Launch is slated for November 3rd at various Nike Basketball retailers. - Billie Eilish x Nike Double Back For a Second Air Force 1
It's hard to stop once it starts. In late-April, Nike x Billie Eilish announced and launched their first eco-conscious Air Force 1 collaboration. The unique take on the classic silhouette featured five velcro straps in a monochromatic appearance. But its environmental footprint came from the 18% post-consumer recycled content, a synthetic nubuck upper – utilizing 80% recycled materials and recycled polyester detailing. Suited for autumn, the AF1 goes with a beautiful Sequoia earth tone motif, that engulfs the entire model. And does so with that aforementioned smooth synthetic nubuck body, giving the silhouette a bit of the look-and-feel of the Special Field Air Force 1 High releases from the late 2010s. - Jordan Luka 1 'Neo Turquoise' Release Info
Play on (international) player. When Jordan Brand initially revealed the Jordan Luka 1 back during the Mavericks playoff run – we were introduced to a black-based away color scheme; which was assumed to be destined as the launch colorway. And perhaps still could be the case, however a secondary colorway debuted by Luka in the subsequent series against the Golden State Warriors might play the lead. Dončić's white-based signature equipped with a new IsoPlate framing, dubbed Formula 23 plays the point for the model as its lightweight upper features a breathable underlay. With a 'Neo Turquoise' accenting most prominent around the sneaker with a touch of a safety Infrared derivative color palette on the heel and flooding the underlayer of the translucent outsole. Release is scheduled for October 7th, dropping just in time for the NBA season and basketball across the US. Have a scroll through the official images after the jump. - Air Jordan 7 Retro 'Cardinal' Returns This Holiday
A 1992 original. Celebrating 30 years of the Air Jordan 7, Jordan Brand is re-releasing an original color scheme from the 1992 run. If you're a bit of a Jordan historian, you'd been keen to the fact that during the regular season, MJ wore white – in the All-Star Game and postseason, he would wear a black-dominant colorway. For most of the 1991-92 season, MJ went with the 'Hare' palette, but on rare occasion, like the one above against the Sacramento Kings, he went to the 'Cardinal' scheme. Comprised of a white leather upper, the model featured black accenting with touches of bronze and Cardinal Red. Only reissued in 2006 and 2011, it returned to the vault – until this holiday season. This retro reverts back to the original build of the Air Jordan 7, as notable by the tongue which sits higher than the collar and appears less curvy in the heel than previous AJ7 iterations.
