Air Jordan 7 Retro 'Cardinal' Returns This Holiday
A 1992 original.
Celebrating 30 years of the Air Jordan 7, Jordan Brand is re-releasing an original color scheme from the 1992 run. If you're a bit of a Jordan historian, you'd been keen to the fact that during the regular season, MJ wore white – in the All-Star Game and postseason, he would wear a black-dominant colorway. For most of the 1991-92 season, MJ went with the 'Hare' palette, but on rare occasion, like the one above against the Sacramento Kings, he went to the 'Cardinal' scheme.
Comprised of a white leather upper, the model featured black accenting with touches of bronze and Cardinal Red. Only reissued in 2006 and 2011, it returned to the vault – until this November. This retro reverts back to the original build of the Air Jordan 7, as notable by the tongue which sits higher than the collar and appears less curvy in the heel than previous AJ7 iterations.
