- Jordan Brand Gets Into The Clog Race
In a day and time where function supersedes style (or so we believe), the gateway was opened for clogs to become the wave. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that; so fittingly with the sustainability of Crocs and their staple clog, and the crossover success of the Yeezy Foam RNNR, coupled with Salehe Bembury's Crocs Pollex collaboration – clogs are here to stay. Jordan Brand is tossing their hat into the ring with their Sneaker Clog. Nike as a whole is no stranger to clogs; see the Nike Clogposite; but this clog from Jordan Brand takes the traditional look-and-feel of a clog and adds to it. The addition of a sock-fitted bootie provides the base layer, and it just so happens to be covered in iconic elephant print. The overlay is where the traditional clog construction takes shape. With a low cut, easy on, easy off motif, the shell is a textured look with perforations on the vamp. No word on the drop date, but as one comes forth, we'll be sure to drop the intel. - Tom Sachs x Nikecraft General Purpose Shoe
BORING. Tom Sachs x Nike have been collaborative partners for a decade; and with the success of the Mars Yard and Mars Yard 2.0, the team of Sachs x Nike has pushed the art of storytelling and design functionality. To celebrate the 10-year partnership, the General Purpose Shoe has been introduced. If you're someone with an eagle eye and sharp memory, you might have spotted the "GPS" on the feet of the equipment managers at the NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland back in February. It's not the Mars Yard, it's not the Mars Yard Overshoe ... it's not loud, it's not going to command $2000+ on the resale market, but it's functional, it's purposeful. "It took a decade to make a shoe this simple, as simple as can be and no simpler. NikeCraft shuns innovation for its own sake, but embraces it as a necessity," – Tom Sachs The Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe releases in both men's and women's sizings on June 10th, online at Nikecraft, to the tune of $110. - Air Jordan 36 'Flight School'
Since the Air Jordan 31, Jordan Brand made the cognizant decision to truly revisit the first three decades of Air Jordan signature models, and infuse brand DNA and heritage into the line. The ethos extends to the present day with the Air Jordan 36. In the time since 2016, we've seen the newest silhouettes borrow design cues from their predecessors, colorways, but the Air Jordan 36 adds a deeper element to the storytelling; and travels back to 1991 with an original Air Jordan 6 ad – printed across the upper. Michael Jordan's Flight School is the name of his fabled basketball camp, but also served as a friendly play on words for an advertising campaign back then. The Flight School look would return on the 'Infrared' Jordan Spizike from 2010 – with the iconic graphics and typography printed on the inner lining of the release. And with an accompanying retro card. (Bring back retro cards, Jordan Brand 🙏🏾) Thirty-one years since the Air Jordan 6, Jordan Brand returns the 36 to the Flight School look with the prints plastered across the white, black upper, adorned with Infrared 23 accents; which speaks to the times. Release is scheduled for June 9th at select retailers. Are you ready to take flight? Air Jordan 36 "Flight School" Black/Infrared 23-White DN4197-001 6. 9. 22. $185

- adidas Yeezy 700 V3 'Fade Carbon'
Another month ... another Yeezy drop. Just like clockwork, as the hands keep ticking on time, adidas has a Kanye West namesake hitting the market. This time, the adidas Yeezy 700 V3 takes centerstage. Originally releasing in 2020, the third iteration of the 700 explores a new look for the version; a color transitioning upper. The gradient across the upper goes from a pale purple to a berry with a translucent cage, adding depth and providing an illusion that it too is transitioning across the upper. But unlike other 700 V3s, the heel is a colored match for accenting upper, almost a bleeding effect. The new adidas Yeezy 700 V3 'Fade Carbon' releases online at adidas via the CONFIRMED app and will be available at select Three Stripes retailers. - Nike Celebrates 50 Years in New Spot
The Swoosh is now 50 years old. Five decades worth of engrained memories, unforgettable campaigns, quotable slogans, and of course ... the shoes. When Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman founded Blue Ribbon Sports, as fate would have it, due to then-unforeseen circumstances, the company was then in Knight's words, "on our own." And from that, Nike was born on May 1st, 1972. A running company founded by a legendary track and field coach and a former student-athlete now has become one of the world's most popular and lucrative brands. The company has signed a who's who of athletes; from Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky, to Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, Michael Johnson to Ken Griffey, Jr., Serena Williams to Sheryl Swoopes. These Nike-sponsored athletes and many more are featured, with over 40 in total – make "loose" cameo appearances as Spike Lee returns as Mars Blackmon and is met by by a new protagonist, Zimmie who both represent Nike's first and second 50 years, bridging the gap between the past and building toward the future.
