  • Stüssy x Nike Air Max Penny 2 Surfaces

With the Nike Air Max Penny 1 making its long awaited return since the mid-2010s and doing so in grand fashion with two original colorways and a Social Status collaboration, the door has been cracked open further for more Penny retros to return. Long rumored to be in the mix was the Stüssy x Nike Air Max Penny 2 project for sometime in 2022. Fitting. Eight months into the calendar year, we have our first and official look at the upcoming collaborative effort. Usually constructed from a suede or leather tooling, the upper of this Air Max Penny 2 has been retooled and retrofitted in a muted black canvas upper. Completely murdered out in a monochromatic statement of bold and deep black is the mudguard, Air unit in the heel and outsole. With the only accentuation coming from white branding of the Swoosh, Nike Air and Stüssy – the latter fixed dead center of the mudguard. No official word on a landing spot on the calendar for these but keep it locked to our Twitter account for details as they come forth. For now, scroll the official images and feel them out for yourselves. Update: The Stüssy x Nike Air Max Penny 2 will drop on December 20th via SNKRS. • The 'Fire Red' Air Jordan 3 Retro Returns to its OG Form

When the 'Fire Red' Air Jordan 3 makes its awaited return, it will effectively leave only one original 1988 colorway yet to make a remastered reemergence. But until then – lets rap about the fabled OG palette. 2007 was quite a long time ago. Fifteen years to be exact. When the colorway returned back then, it came with the Jumpman fixed on the heel tab, a darker – richer shade of Fire Red and also came most notably with blacked out elephant print panels. The latter to which, if you ask around, you'll find a contingency of fans who prefer the shading and blackened elephant print accenting. But, as we've seen over the near decade since the Jordan Brand remastered initiative came into play, we've seen beloved OGs gain a second, third or even fourth wind in some cases – with a meticulous approach to shape, texture, color and even factoring in how the new iteration will age over time. What began with the 'True Blue' Air Jordan 3 Retro OG in 2016 comes the 'Fire Red' in 2022 and the 'White Cement', well ... Jordan Brand, we're waiting. (👀) Release is slated for September 10th officially. Air Jordan 3 Retro OG "Fire Red" White/Fire Red-Cement Grey-Black DN3707-160 9. 10. 22. $210

With the brand's announcement on Monday, Patta's program with Nike is officially back. The initial quartet of Air Max 1 releases in 2021, dubbed "The Wave", now gives space to "The Next Wave". Taking roots in African culture, the proverb of "each one teach one" births the upcoming 'Dark Russet' iteration and the anticipated, forthcoming white colorway. As previously mentioned, the 'Dark Russet' color scheme doubles down on the brownish palette but does so with a leather wavy overlay mudguard that is reminiscent of wingtip hard bottoms. As well as the toned leather layered across the upper and heel with a metallic silver mesh underlay. The fifth colorway in the program will release on Friday, August 12th at Patta both online and in-store, SNKRS (EU) and in-store at Thesis in Johannesburg. • Nike Goes For Maximum Air With The Air Max Scorpion

Maximum Air. This scorpion doesn't sting, but it will grasp you and not let go. Not much needs to be said about this new Air Max silhouette outside of more Air, more Air, more Air. Sitting atop a mountain of an Airbag that comprises the full length outsole, the unreleased Air Max model features a Flyknit constructed upper with a stitch etched Swoosh on the lateral quarter and a textured vamp that runs concurrently with the eyelets, collar, tongue and heel pull tab. While the full detailing of the Air Max Scorpion is still mysterious, we are able to see a resemblance to both the Air Max 95 with its shape and the build and composition of the VaporMax before it. And it falls in line harmoniously with the Swoosh's mission to add as much Air as possible as seen with the AM 720, AM 270 and the aforementioned VaporMax. No word yet on an official launch date, but the official image suggest release is nigh – with September being the estimated arrival. Stay with Sole-U for release details as they come forth. Has this Air Max stung you with intrigue, yet? Nike Air Max Scorpion DR0888-001 xx. xx. 22.

  • Nike Air Force 1 'Triple White' Anniversary

Crisp & clean As it's been detailed throughout 2022, the Nike Air Force 1 is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and with that has come multiple iterations. Whether it be with the Doernbecher Freestyle, Billie Eilish collaboration, the Virgil Abloh led Louis Vuitton offerings – but despite all of those special looks and interpretations on Bruce Kilgore's classic ... nothing hits like a fresh pair of white-on-whites. The Swoosh gives the AF1 community what they want, with an insanely clean "Triple White" motif in the ever versatile low-cut build. This particular pair pays respects to the AF1's past with the original typeface on the heel spelling NIKE AIR, to the tongue tag that elegantly dubs this pair the Anniversary Edition in a beautiful regal gold cursive and of course a toothbrush hangtag accessory to help keep those clean. Because Nelly said it best, "once you scuff them, you f*cked up your whole night." Keep an eye out for this pair hitting retailers, potentially in the coming weeks. • The Air Jordan 37 Channels the Spirit of The AJ7 For Today's Athlete

Continuing the DNA infusion of Air Jordans past Since Tinker Hatfield's interpretation of MJ having the world in the palm of his hands with the Air Jordan XXX, there was a shift in the brand's approach when it came to the future of the Air Jordan signature line. Now, two decades after MJ's final retirement, the world – the game – the athlete was changing. No longer were these models designed to the exact specifications of the greatest player ever, but instead – embodying his essence and greatness into his signature line for the athletes of today that he sees himself in. The Air Jordan XXX1 (31) recaptured the defiant nature of the Air Jordan 1, but did so with a modern vigor that included a tightly woven upper. The Air Jordan XXX2 (32) included lines similar to the Air Jordan 2 and so on and so on with the Air Jordan 33 through 36. Now more than a halfway through a new decade of Air Jordan signatures – we arrive to the newest, the Air Jordan XXXVII (37). Built in Nike's Sport Research Lab (NSRL), the silhouette features reductive layering, a TPU molded response system with Formula 23 foam and for the first time since the AJ32, utilizes a carbon fiber shank plate. However, this modern take of Tinker Hatfield's 1992 creation pays homage with the freehand herringbone pattern of the outsole, color blocking, Huarache-like inner bootie, Lenoweave patterned upper which all captures the West African inspiration that timely inspired the AJ7, as MJ elevated the game around the globe. Releasing in the 'Beyond Borders' colorway in September, the familiar 'Hare' color scheme will follow later in 2022. via Nike, Inc.
