If your eagle eye is sharpening its sights, you'll remember the release displayed above. With the Chinese Zodiac operating on a dozen-year cycle, the last time we experienced the year of the rabbit was in 2011 – and for the next stop on the cycle, the Swoosh is calling back to the Nike Air Force 1 Supreme from that year. Adopting the DNA from the original launch, the Nike Dunk Low sports the same color blocking and material construction as its older cousin.
From the neutral suede underlay to the crisp white overlays ... blue flat laces, even down to the buckle on the first lace – the chenille red lateral and blue medial Swooshes. And the capping details coming in the form of the translucent milky outsole and chenille tongue tabs. Further detailing the callback is a bold 2011 and 2023 detail on the outsole and the packaging which refers to both years. And a fun rabbit debossed on the lateral heels for good measure.
The Dunk Low should carry the same color description as the 2011 AF1 or eerily similar, and we can expect to see this in Q1 of 2023, coinciding with the Lunar New Year.
