- Bad Bunny x adidas Launch The Last Forum & Ice Store
Since linking with Benito, adidas has been challenged, not only in design ... but in activation as well. Earlier in the year – adidas sent a selection of lucky winners to Bad Bunny's home of Puerto Rico to celebrate the summer launch of the sky blue colorway of the Last Forum silhouette. Now with winter fully here, adidas plays off the duality of Puerto Rico's "eternal summer" with a wintery white motif. The model sports accenting grey Three Stripes overlays on the paneling and available exclusively through the adidas Confirmed app. But wait, there's more ... adidas is also offering 1,500 fans the opportunity to visit the world's first Ice Store. And as you guest it, the space is completely frozen, including frozen beach elements but it has all the feel of summery. Definitely, some mental gymnastics at play – but it brings home the duality of the colorway and Benito but also expands upon the activations we've seen from the duo in 2022. Details on how you can be one of the 1,500 can be found below. The Bad Bunny x adidas Last Forum launches in the wintery colorway on December 10th. To continue generating conversation and expectation around this drop and seeking to involve the community, this activation will last only 3 days, from December 8th to 10th, and 500 winners per day will be able to attend. In other words, only 1,500 participants will get the opportunity to enjoy the first ICE STORE in the world. Step-by-step on how to participate: From December 1st to 5th: Consumers will be able to register on the app CONFIRMED to purchase the silhouettes and win the chance to experience the ICE STORE. From December 6th to 7th: Winners will be notified via the app and will be able to obtain the Last Forum and the exclusive experience with the coordinates of the location, date, and time. From December 8th to 10th: A total of 500 winners per day will have access to the store from 8 am to 5 pm. Bad Bunny x adidas Last Forum Cloud White/Clear Onix-Chalk White 12. 10. 22. $160
- Nike is Bringing Back the KD III In 2023
The first retro run for KD's signature line The year is 2011 ... the Nike Zoom KD III is in the middle of its run and the showcase of the NBA's brightest talent is descending upon "The City of Angels". Kevin Durant has supplanted himself as a top talent in the association - as a marksman shooter, creator of space and an unguardable pull-up jumper. Now with his third Nike signature model, the young Durant takes center stage in Los Angeles. The last of the traditional East versus West (blue versus red) color scheme, Durant's Zoom KD III shined across the multicolored hardwood flooring of Staples Center with a blurred design on the underlay and a full leather overlay and full red semi-translucent outsole. In the decade that followed, many wondered when or even if Durant's signature line would receive a full retro treatment. The 'White/Photo Blue' KD IV returned as part of the "Think 16" playoff collection in 2018, it was the first time any Durant model had received any sort of a retro treatment. And when asked about the possibility of a retro, KD said in a piece on his Boardroom platform in 2021 (celebrating the decade anniversary of the KD IV), the challenge when it came to a retro was: "Being able to look the same way it did 10 years ago but play like we play now, that's the challenge." – Kevin Durant He later concluded that thought with the proclamation, "retros are on the way." The declaration displayed KD's desire for a Protro-like retro; that coined by Kobe Bryant who sought an upgraded modern version of his signatures when Nike began to retro his line. Now armed with hope for fans, Durant recently on a trip to Portland warmed up in an all-black KD III – which in Nike lure is the motif used for sample product. Durant would then talk about pulling out the silhouette on an episode of The Etcs. with co-host Eddie Gonzalez. All of which has led us to official images surfacing of the 'All-Star' KD III in retro form. Are you excited for the return – what other KD signatures and colorways would you like to see return? Update: The Nike Zoom KD III 'All-Star' is officially returning on Friday, February 10th and will be available via SNKRS. - SoleFly x Air Jordan 13 Capsule Collection
Ever hear the story about the goat and the fish? If there is anything Michael Jordan might love more than basketball – you could probably narrow that list down to family; his favorite tequila, Cincoro ... which he's an owner of, cigars, competition of virtually any kind, and boating. The latter including fishing as well. At several points in time over the years, we've seen MJ from his superyacht – his newest one, purchased in 2019 for a stunning and slight (for him) $80 million can probably be seen somewhere near his fishing boat dubbed "Catch 23". Safe to say the goat loves to fish. As Art Basel approaches, Miami retailer SoleFly – owned and operated by MJ's brother-in-law, Carlos Prieto. And as what has become tradition more-or-less for the shop during the first week in December, is a collaborative Air Jordan release. In the past we've gotten an Air Jordan 1 High Retro and Air Jordan 16 Retro around this time, but also other signatures in years past; like the XX3 and Air Jordan 17 Low Retro. The upcoming AJ13 however is marine friendly, thanks to its sandy Muslin and Gum Light Brown look with Celestine Blue overlay and grey underlay. But tying the theme together even more is the aquatic insoles and reflected water on the top of the packaging. Expect to hit the seven seas with this release on December 2nd at SoleFly and SNKRS. - adidas Unveils Pharrell Williams x Samba Collection
It is no mere coincidence that during the world's largest international football (soccer) tournament that adidas would take the time to unveil a collaborative effort that bridges two hallmarks of the Three Stripes; that being the pitch and Originals. Enlisting the assistance of partner Pharrell Williams, adidas harmoniously meshes Williams' Humanrace sub-label, which carries its own mission of uniting the diverse melting pot that is the human race with the game that unites the globe ... all while using a classic adidas model. The capsule collection serves as a time machine, utilizing adidas DNA and heritage within its football division to create new product featuring knitted jerseys, shorts and ripstop jacket. On one end of the spectrum is the Night Grey and White Cloud motif – classic Three Stripes; but then you also find 'Semi Screaming Green', 'Hazy Orange' and 'Light Yellow' schemes across the collection. - The NOCTA x Air Force 1 is an Homage to Drake's Mother
Until I find the only words I know that you ... When Drake boldly proclaimed he'd been hot since the birth of his son as the opening line to Certified Lover Boy's "Champagne Poetry", he was correct. Since those words in September 2021, we've seen Nike x Drake's NOCTA division continue to pick up steam thanks to seasonal drops and the Hot Step silhouette which grabbed its influence from an ACG cult classic. But much like Drake's first ventures with the Swoosh under Jordan Brand, we find the artist's touch on a mainstream classic; previously it was the Air Jordan 4, 8, 10 and 12 Retros – this time ... in 2022, it's the Air Force 1. While in the midst of a banner 40th anniversary, Bruce Kilgore's design gets a bit of a tweak, but still keeps the integrity of the original design language. Releasing in the beloved 'Triple White' palette, the 'CLB' or 'Love You Forever' NOCTA AF1 boldly personifies Drake's love for his mother, Sandra Graham. "Sandra's rose" dedicated this Air Force 1 to her and his favorite childhood book. Sporting a tumbled leather body, the AF1's signature embossed stars have been converted into hearts, befitting the theme. And the signature AIR cut out on the lateral midsole has been removed for the phrase "Love You Forever" after the 1986 children's book. Additionally, the silhouette comes with the NOCTA insignia on the left heel and printed on the insole. The packaging is a muted and calming baby blue with a hint of gold script – while the shoe itself comes with an extra set of laces and full alphabet beaded lacelocks. Release is scheduled between December 1st and 2nd for overseas retailers with a US release to follow shortly behind. - The New Balance 9060 Adopts a Clean ‘Ivory’ Look
Since entering the marketplace, New Balance's 9060 has quietly been one of the unsung models of 2022, and it has fit perfectly with everything the Boston-rooted juggernaut has built this year. Only having released in a few color schemes, a new neutral colorway has entered the mix. Eerily reminiscent of the 'Mindful Gray' motif from the summer; this late-autumn, early-winter 'Ivory' look takes a predominantly beige design from the leather overlays, to the mesh underlay and the touches of suede sprinkled in. Accentuating the look is a blend of pink outlining the N logo and a muted greyish-blue mixed hue with full grey touches on the outsole pods. Because it wouldn't be New Balance without its timeless grey color. As for a release, the colorway is not on the docket for a stateside launch – but that doesn't mean one isn't in the works. For now, release is scheduled for December 3rd at select European retailers. New Balance 9060 "Ivory" Ivory Cream/Pink Sand U9060WCG 12. 3. 22. (European release) $150 images via END
- Air Jordan 2 Retro OG 'Chicago' Official Images
Capping off the year of the 2. It is quite fitting that when you look at 2022, that it would indeed become "the year of the two (2)". Whether it was the bevy of collaborations that Jordan Brand unleashed in 2022 featuring the Air Jordan 2 and Air Jordan 2 Low or the capstone that comes in the form of one of the two original color schemes, it's been a banner year for the polarizing signature model. Back in February, we penned "The Curious Case of the Air Jordan 2", the op-ed looked to dissolve the love-hate relationship between sneakerheads and the second signature model – to which [at the end] we called for Jordan Brand to release the original colorways but in a premium manner similar to the Italian Leather crafted 1987 OGs. Well, we have one of those – the latter we'll have to wait and see. But with Jordan Brand's remastered initiative continuing to evolve, never say never on that front. Paying descriptive attention to the 1986-87 original, the AJ2 Retro is a near one-to-one retro of the original. From the wings on the tongue, its height; the slope and shape of the mold, down to the hangtag and internal packaging that called for notable AJ2 collectors to help piece together the final touches. The smooth white upper coupled with the reptilian textured overlay and deep Chicago Bulls red palette brings this beauty back to life. Will you be looking to cop to round out your year?
